(This is Jess! *waves*) In answer to the anon, I’ve seen Phantom twice as well - it was actually the first musical I ever saw live when I was quite young (10?), though the music had been a part of my life since I was six or seven, and seeing it live genuinely changed the course of my life and who I grew to be, because it sparked my passion for musical theatre. I saw it again on tour in 2006, with Gary Mauer and Marie Danvers. As far as live professional theatre goes (so excluding school productions or things I’ve seen on film?), I’ve also seen Wicked, The Lion King, Cabaret, and (also twice) Sweeney Todd (the 2008 Revival Tour and in a traditionally staged production). Phantom is breathtaking live, I really hope you enjoy it - I would always encourage anyone who can get tickets to see it onstage. ♥
